Compass Credit Union is set to hold an official groundbreaking ceremony for its all-new branch in Fulton on Tuesday, June 25 at 9 a.m.

The 3,200-square-foot building will be located at 208 N. 2nd Street in Fulton at the corner of Shaw St. and Hubbard St.

Following a merger with Oswego Heritage Credit Union in 2016, which serviced Davis-Standard and SUNY Oswego, Compass Credit Union began plans to improve services for members.

An all-new, full-service branch in Fulton is the result.

“Our current Fulton location inside the Canalview Mall is not very accessible,” said Compass Credit Union Manager, Thomas O’Toole. “We have no ATM, no drive-thru and in fact you have to park your car and walk down an alley way to get to the branch. We determined the best way to improve services was to build a brand new, full-service branch, right near Davis-Standard.”

The one level space will include ATM and loan services, two drive-thru lanes, a coin machine as well as a conference room available to the community. The branch will be serviced by a full staff of knowledgeable and experienced Compass Credit Union officials.

Schopfer Architects of Syracuse has handled the design of the building, which will feature a blend of modern elements with optimal flow for members. Hayner Hoyt Construction Company of Syracuse will handle construction.

Compass Credit Union Assistant Manager, Denise Grinnell, believes having this branch nestled in the Fulton community is an exciting new opportunity.

“We’re excited to provide our members with a more visible and welcoming space,” said Grinnell. “Being able to provide ATM and drive-thru services, where we couldn’t before, in combination with being much more accessible, is important to our membership.”

The branch is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
