The YMCA has partnered with Pillar Design Studios, 30+ Crown Skate League, Raby's Ace Home Center, Burke's Home Center, Lake Effect Car Wash, Sausage Shack, Avery Rental Properties, Beacon Hotel, Step One Creative, and Gino & Joe's Pizza in order to ensure the success of the project. This partnership is contributing resources including time, talent, cash, supplies and materials. The team of builders who will be volunteering their time to resurface the inside of the local YMCA Skate Park will work alongside youth from the community as mentors and skill trainers.
The build is scheduled to take place from Saturday Sept 12th through Sept 29th. The skate park project aims to smooth, resurface, clean up and give a positive facelift to the park through ramp resurfacing construction work that will give a safer and smoother riding environment to over 350 kids in Oswego County who use the skate park. In addition, the young people directly involved in the build will benefit from the opportunity to develop assets and learn skills through a hands on activity which improves our community.
This project is made possible by a mini-grant from the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau.
