Have you ever wanted to sell at a local farmers’ market, but aren’t sure how to get started?
Join Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County (CCE) for its week-long tour of five local farmers’ markets in Oswego County, Wednesday, Aug. 13 through Saturday, Aug. 16.
Attendees will have a chance to meet market managers, tour the venue, learn the history, speak with agricultural vendors and discuss the keys to success.
Each tour will last about an hour. This series will be a casual “talk and tour” and along the way CCE educators will talk about the importance of supporting local food initiatives and how selling at a farmers’ market is a wonderful way to get started. There will be plenty of time for questions and networking.
The farmers’ market week schedule is as follows:
- Wednesday, Aug. 13 from 5 to 6 p.m.: Mexico Farmers’ Market, at Mexico High School, 3338 Main St. The meeting spot is at the steering committee booth on the school bridge.
- Wednesday, Aug. 13 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.: Richland Farmers’ Market, at Half-Shire Historical Society, 1100 Co. Rte. 48. The meeting spot is behind the Half-Shire building by the new pole barn.
