The Country Cabin, in Scriba, hosted its annual Harvest Open House Saturday, Oct. 5.
Included in the event was a chicken barbecue to benefit The Seth Project, a new not-for-profit organization formed by an Oswego couple, Laurie Ann Marrano-Johnson and her husband, David. The Seth Project exists to provide financial assistance for mental health services to both clients and providers. Profits from The SETH Project are donated directly to CNY Community Foundation for distribution within Oswego County in support of mental health services.
Some of the vendors included local artist and photographer, Jennifer Suydum, Scentsy Candles, Kerri's Organic Pet Treats, Kitty's Kreations (vintage jewelry) and face painting by the Mexico National Art Honor Society with the donations going to The Seth Project.
"We are now starting our annual canned food drive for The Scriba Christmas Project," said Mary Powers, owner of the Country Cabin. "Bring in three non-perisable food items and receive one 25 percent off an item, excluding antiques, lighting, furniture, consignment, fall and calendars. Please make sure that the expiration dates are valid."
The Country Cabin is open Wednesday through Sunday all year round. The store also has its own website, www.countrycabinoswego.com, which features many items in the store.
