There is a new face tearing up the super-modified division at Oswego Speedway, and he “had zero racing experience prior to this year.”

Aric Iosue, an Oswego native, is a rookie with generations of background history. Iosue’s grandfather was a racer, and his uncle Gary Allbritain raced Supers in Oswego. Iosue’s father has also been attending races at the Oswego Speedway since he was a child.

“My inspiration has come all from my family... I grew up with Supermodified racing and it is in my blood,” Iosue said.

Before Iosue started racing super-modified cars, he worked on them. “ I started working on the very car I am driving 6 years ago with my brother in law,” Iosue said. “He was driving and my father started helping him, they invited me to come along and I was hooked shortly after that.”

He worked with his brother-in-law through the 2011 season, and then from 2012 - 2014 Losue was Crew Chief for Pat Lavery. As soon as he started work he wanted a chance to drive one. Iosue and his father knew super-modified cars very well, so he figured “Why not just jump right in?”

Iosue has big plans for his rookie year and his future in racing at the Oswego Speedway. “I love competing at Oswego speedway,” he said. Currently, his goals are to finish as many races as possible for the experience. Toward the end of the racing season, he wants to become more competitive and “get some top 10’s.”

The rookie’s ultimate goal is to win a race with his father. “That is what keeps me going.” To keep up with all of Iosue’s updates you can go like his Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Iosue-Racing/402392053297760
