Debra “Debi” Hier, 62 of Mexico, unexpectedly passed away on February 12, 2024.

 Deb was born on October 31, 1961 . She was a foster parent for 10 years and respite coordinator for Exceptional Family Resources. She was an advocate and caretaker for anyone who needed one.

Debi had a passion for jewelry making and crafts. She spent her time enjoying life, loving people, spoiling her pets, and doting on her grandsons.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Mark Hier, her daughters, Jennifer (Jeremy) Smith and Carrie (Adam) McKalsen, her five grandsons (the McKalsen boys), her mother, Deanna Anthony, her sister-in-laws, Tina Hier and Blanche Laplatney, her sisters, Caroline Cross and Patricia (Dale) Seely, and extended family.

She is predeceased by her father, Richard Hart, and step-father, William Anthony.

Calling hours will be held February 19 from 4-6pm with a service immediately following at Hart Funeral Home 2983 West Main Street, Parish.
