Write a commentSydney DeLapp, a fifth-grader from Kingsford Park Elementary School, who captured Oswego's regional spelling bee final this past March, will travel to Washington DC for the Scripps National Spelling Bee that will be held May 24-29th.
In the regional spelling bee, DeLapp competed against 18 other participants, three from each elementary school, and four from the Oswego Middle School.
Brian Steffen, the Kingsford Park Elementary School Spelling Bee Advisor, said, "On behalf of the students and staff of Kingsford Park School and the entire Oswego community, we want to congratulate Sydney, and wish her good luck as she travels with her family to Washington, DC for the National Spelling Bee."
