Diane M. (Murray) D’Arcy, 84 of Oswego passed away Tuesday evening in the Oswego Hospital surrounded by her family.
She was born in Oswego and was the daughter of the late Peter Harold and Helene Irene (Chetney) Murray.
Mrs. D’Arcy had been employed for many years as a social worker with the Oswego County Department of Social Services. She had also taught music for many years. Mrs. D’Arcy was educated in Oswego schools and was a graduate of Ithaca College and earned her master’s degree in music from SUNY Potsdam. Her greatest achievement in life was being there for her children and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter Laura Bovay of Oswego, two sons, David D’Arcy of Savannah, Georgia, Christopher (Amy) D’Arcy of Phoenix, five grandchildren, Jerod Bovay, Tyler D’Arcy, Jennah Bovay, Julia Bovay, Caitlin D’Arcy and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her siblings, Paul Murray, Richard Murray, Carol Pendrys and Judge John “Ring” Murray.
Calling hours will be 4-7 PM Tuesday at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home. Memorial services will be Wednesday 10AM at the funeral home followed by burial in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
