Donald E. McDermott, 53, formerly of Oswego and a resident of Fulton, passed away Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at St. Joseph's Hospital.
He was born in Oswego, he was a son of Alma Gillen McDermott and the late James E. McDermott.
Mr. McDermott was educated in Oswego schools and served in the U.S. Marine Corp.
He had been employed for many years with National Grid. He had also served as a police officer in the village of Phoenix and was a special deputy with the Oswego County Sheriff's Department.
Mr. McDermott is survived by his mother, Alma McDermott, of Oswego; two sons, Joseph McDermott and Jacob McDermott, both of Fulton; two brothers, Dennis (Laurie) McDermott, of Oswego and his twin, Daniel (Cheryl) McDermott, of Alamo, Calif.; and several niece and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 9 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home
Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery.
Calling hours are from 4-7 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home, 112 E. Second St.
