If you're in the mood for a good comedy, you will not want to miss the Oswego Players' current production of "Don't Drink the Water," written by Woody Allen and directed by Sherri Metz.
"I saw a tech rehearsal last night and deems it hysterical," said spokesperson Carol DeCapio. "The pace is fast and the laughs just keep coming."
Among the fine talent contributing to the frenzied family trapped in a foreign embassy behind the iron curtain is Jennifer Snow. Snow has been involved in the Oswego Players for more than 12 years. She made her debut breakout role as the rascally dog "Sylvia" in the play of the same name, directed by Bobby Fontana. Since then, Snow as played a plethora of roles including, Suzanne in "Don't Dress for Dinner," Chris Gorman in "Rumors," Esther Smith in "Meet Me in St. Louis," and Elaine Harper in "Arsenic and Old Lace," to name just a few. She is also a talented director and has in the last seven years some dozen shows under her belt.
Not content with just acting and directing, Snow serves on the Executive Board of the Oswego Players as recording secretary and chairwoman of the Scholarship Committee. Professionally, she is a reading teacher for the Camden Central School District.
Other cast members include, Nelson, Sherri and Chris Metz, Brian Pringle, Joannie Anderson, Julia Dighe and Juan Lamanna.
"Additionally, kudos to Eric Cronk," DeCapio said.
Cronk stepped in last-minute to cover two performances for Knate Roy. He will play the part of the ambassador's aide Sept. 13 and 14.
"He does a yeoman's job on short notice," DeCapio added.
Don't Drink the Water is scheduled for production for 8 p.m., Sept. 13, 14 and 20, 21, and 2 p.m., Sept. 22 at 2 p.m. Reservations may be made at the Oswego Players box office at 315-343-5138.
