Doug was born in Kentucky the son of the late James and Nancy (McHugh) Ritz; after moving to Oswego, he remained a lifetime resident.
He enjoyed playing Bingo, driving his car to see his friends and spending time together, golfing, playing darts, watching Buffalo Bills, and tasting new specialty food items. He was a sports collector, and followed Frostbite Blue, to almost all their venues, enjoying their music.
Doug was predeceased by his parent James and Nancy Ritz, his sister Susan Ritz and brother Joe Ritz.
He is survived by his sister Lisa Ritz of FL, nieces, nephews and a close friend and caregiver Pauline Wallace, her family, and her grandson Nathan who Doug loved dearly.
Services will be held privately. The arrangements are in care of the Sugar & Scanlon Funeral Home, Oswego.
