Edward Demm, 64, of Oswego, passed at home on July 1st, 2019.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Louis and Sheila (Waters) Demm.
Ed earned a BA Degree in Fine Arts from SUNY Oswego and later a second BA in Graphic Design. He met and married his wife of 41 years, Janet (Cloonan) Demm and together raised their three children.
He retired from the Oswego City Police Department as a Sergeant after 20 years of service. Following retirement, he was employed at SUNY Oswego for 9 years.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the Art Association of Oswego.
He had a love for life and had many passions, including spending time with his family. He also loved art, carpentry, and enjoyed cooking. He was an avid reader, loved listening to music, and watching movies.
In addition to his loving wife, Janet, he is survived by his daughters, Jordan and Caitlin Demm, of Oswego and son, Patrick (Maggie Ferlito) Demm; his two beloved Granddaughters, Addie and Ellie; sister, Michelle Handley of Fulton and Paula Demm of Oswego; brothers, David (Eileen) Demm of Oswego, Barry Demm of Oswego, and Matthew Demm of Oswego; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Edward was predeceased by his parents.
Calling hours will be a Monday, July 8th, 2019 from 2-6PM with a service to follow at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany Street.
Graveside service and burial will be held at 9AM on Tuesday, July 9th in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
