Edward W. Germain, 71, of Oswego, passed away on April 10, 2026,  with his family by his side.

Born and raised in Oswego, he was the son of the late Phillip and Doris (Smith) Germain.

Eddie was a hardworking interior and exterior house painter.  He worked many years for EWG Painting and was a member of the Laborers Local 214.  In his earlier years, he worked at the Owens-Illinois Manufacturing Plant in Fulton.  He was a long-time member of the Oswego American Legion and was a proud US Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam War. 

Eddie enjoyed the outdoors and loved hunting and fishing. He was a music enthusiast and loved enjoying local live music.  He adored his family and his little dog Mocha, whom he took everywhere. 

Eddie is survived by his daughters, Angela (Jim) Smith of Scriba and Erica Germain of Oswego, his beloved grandchildren Hunter Smith, Autumn Smith, and Tyce Andrew Greenier, and his dog Mocha.

In addition to his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his brother Phillip James Germain and his sisters Gloria Jean Germain and Cheri Marie Thompson.

Family and friends are invited to call from 4-6 on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, with a funeral service to follow, at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany Street.  Eddie’s burial with Military Honors will be held at a later date in St. Peter Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
