Write a commentEileen M. Porter, 74, of 201 West 2nd Street passed away October 18th, 2018 at St. Lukes Heath Services.
She was the wife of Gerard Porter. She was born in Huntington Long Island, and was the daughter of the late Dennis and Margaret (Cronin) Murphy.
Eileen had a Bachelor of Science and was a registered nurse at the Huntington Hospital on Long Island for more than 50 years.
She enjoyed skiing, bowling, and shopping. She was an avid reader and enjoyed family time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband Gerard, are two daughters, Laura (Sean) Haubert of Conn. and Shara (Joe) Blakeley. Three sisters; Denise Scheer of Long Island, Mary Ruggiero of Florida, and Patricia Murphy of Long Island. 5 grandchildren; AJ Blakeley, Tori Blakeley, Patrick Haubert and Sean Haubert.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, Dennis Murphy, and two sisters, Peggy Mains and Katherine Goalwin.
Calling Hours will be held Sunday, October 21st at Nelson Funeral Home from 1-3. Services will be held 10 am Monday, October 22nd at St. Mary’s Church.
