Elaine A. Odin, 73, a resident of Oswego, passed away September 1, 2014, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Chisholm, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Vivian (Duguay) Rea. She worked in the Payroll Department at Alcan for many years. Elaine was a coordinator for many years with the St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Paul's Church. The Giving Tree and Food baskets for Thanksgiving and Christmas are still a huge success due to her efforts. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling. She loved spending time at camp with her family.
Surviving are one son, Robert P. (Lisa) Odin of Oswego; three daughters, Linda (Scott) Sharkey of Oswego; Gemma (Donald) Osborne of Waterloo, NY and Michelle (Lynn) Cooper of Oswego; a brother, James (Patricia) Rea, of Skowhegan, Maine; two sisters, Carolyn (Jerry) Wentworth, of Skowhegan, Maine; Marian "Bambi" (Dave) Grard, of Lewiston, Maine; eight grandchildren, Donald and Robert Odin, Brian and Heather Sharkey, Matthew (Kateri) and David Osborne and Eric and Jared Cooper; a great-grandchild, Brayden Odin; 3-step grandchildren and 6-step-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Odin in 2009.
Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, at St. Paul's Church. Burial will follow at St. Paul's Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Thursday, at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.
