Elizabeth M. “Betty” Moshier, 93, of Oswego, died June 7th 2019 at St. Luke Health Services.
Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late, Florence (Smith) and Alexander Michalski. She lived most of of her life in Oswego, was educated in local schools and graduated cum laude from Oswego State University in 1948. She taught young children for 35 years, retiring from Kingsford Park School after being on the faculty there for 25 years.
Well known as a vocalist she often accompanied herself with her Autoharp. A lifetime member of the United Methodist Church she had directed children and Adult Church Choirs. Betty enjoyed writing stories for children and read them in programs at schools, at Arts in the Parks, and at the Richardson Bates House.
Her husband, Frank A.J. Moshier died on February 6, 2007. They had a loving 44 years of marriage.
She is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins as well as many friends.
There are no calling hours. Graveside services will be held on July 24th at 10am in Riverside Cemetery for both she and her husband.
