Erin’s Angels Amazon Giveaway Recap

On a chilly November evening, 65 neighbors from the Fulton and Phoenix school districts came together at the Erin’s Angels office—not just for supplies, but for solidarity.

Thanks to a generous donation from Amazon, attendees were invited to help themselves to free food items, health and beauty products, and cleaning supplies, essentials that many families are struggling to afford right now.

This giveaway wasn’t just about generosity. It was a response to crisis.

With the government shutdown causing delays in SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits across Oswego County, families who rely on these supports have been left in limbo. For many, the uncertainty means choosing between groceries and gas, or skipping meals to stretch a budget that’s already too thin.

Erin’s Angels stepped in to say: You are not forgotten. You are not alone.

“Turning hunger into a bargaining chip isn’t leadership, it’s neglect,” said Sheila Dion, Founder & Chief Angel Officer. “We’re here because love refuses to quit.”

This event was a powerful reminder that community care can fill the gaps when policy falls short. Every item taken home was a message of dignity, and every smile shared was a quiet act of resistance against the idea that survival should be negotiable.
