Community celebration raises funds for Feeding the Future Scholarship; scholarship applications now open for Oswego County seniors
Erin’s Angels of CNY will hold its annual Purple Party on Saturday, February 7th, to honor Erin Maxwell’s heavenly birthday and raise funds for the organization’s Feeding the Future Scholarship program.
The event will take place at Monirae’s located at 688 County Route 10 #90, beginning at 6 p.m. Supporters gather each year for a birthday celebration in Maxwell’s favorite color purple, to remember her life and support Oswego County students pursuing higher education and career training. As part of the event, a spaghetti dinner buffet will be offered for $10 per person and $5 for children under five years old, made possible through food donations from Wegmans, Monirae’s and Tasswoods Bakery and Diner. The evening will also include a purple costume contest, with a prize awarded to the winner.
“Erin’s favorite color was purple, and this night is our way of celebrating her while also creating opportunity for young people who are working hard to build their future,” said Jack Pflanz, director of fund development for Erin’s Angels of CNY.
Lu Hart, vice president of the Erin’s Angels of CNY Board of Directors, said the event is intended to bring the community together while advancing the organization’s mission. “The Purple Party is joyful and meaningful,” Hart said. “It’s a reminder that love and community can be turned into action for the next generation.”
MaryAnn D’Addio, fundraising committee chairperson for Erin’s Angels of CNY, said the annual gathering helps strengthen local support while expanding educational opportunities for students. “It’s a night to celebrate Erin and invest in students who have shown resilience, compassion and a commitment to serving others,” D’Addio said. This special evening is filled with celebration, community and compassion all while raising funds for the Feed our Future Scholarship program.
