Erin’s Angels of CNY has received a total of $3,000 in grant funding to support weekend backpack programs that provide food to children in need across Oswego County.

A $2,500 grant from the Oswego County Community Foundation (OCCF) is enabling Erin’s Angels to distribute $250 donations to every school district in the county, helping to nourish children who face food insecurity when school is not in session.

The first check was delivered to the Blessings in a Backpack Oswego Chapter, which serves the Oswego City School District and provides weekend meals to 400 children.

“We are honored to partner with OCCF to support these incredible programs,” said Sheila Dion, Executive Director of Erin’s Angels of CNY. “This grant ignites something beautiful across our county, ensuring children are fed, futures are brighter, and communities are stronger.”

In addition, Erin’s Angels received a $500 grant from the Garrett Dunsmoor Memorial Foundation, further supporting its mission to feed the future of Central New York.

“Every bag of food, every weekend meal, every full belly, that’s what their partnership makes possible. To the Garrett Dunsmoor Foundation: thank you for believing in our kids, our community, and the simple power of showing up with love (and snacks),” Director of Development & Communications, Jack Pflanz.

Erin’s Angels of CNY continues to advocate for the New York State Children’s Bill of Rights, a statewide initiative to ensure every child is seen, valued, and loved.
