Nancy Weber, the first woman president of The Farm Bureau, was the guest speaker for the Oswego Association of Business and Professional Women during the Sept. 17 meeting at Vona's Restaurant in Oswego.

As a long-time dairy farmer in Mexico and representative on the CNY Regional Economic Development Committee, Weber spoke to the group of working women and retirees about women in agriculture. Oswego County apples and Got Milk? pencils with cow erasers were given to members as a takeaway.

The Oswego Association of Business and Professional Women membership includes working women and retirees.

"We support local groups and organizations," said Beth Clark, president. "We contribute to Human Concerns Food Pantry and focus on a Thanksgiving cash/food drive for them. We also adopt needy families at Christmas and provide gifts and food. Each year, OABPW awards a scholarship to a local female graduate of Oswego High School."

Meetings are held the third Tuesday of each month at Vona's in Oswego at 6pm with the exception of July and August.
"We are encouraging new membership now," Clark said. "Anyone interested in joining this group of women may reach out to Pat Cole at our membership committee at 342-2455."

For more information or questions, call Clark at 315-216-4992.
