Write a commentAs the Lura Sharp Elementary School kindergartners capped 26 days of learning and growth, they donned their best letters, lowered the lights and hit the runway for an ABC-themed fashion show.
In what is hoped to become an annual tradition, students created shirts and hats themed to their specific letter and strolled to the stage in front of families in the auditorium on a recent Friday morning in October.
“During the first 26 days of school we learned all 26 of our letter sounds, as well as how to spell that sound,” said PACS kindergarten teacher Denise Kelly. “The kids did an amazing job and we are all so proud of how far they have come in just 26 days.”
Kelly thanked families for coming out and their involvement in the process, and also the administration for letting them try something new.
The Lura Sharp kindergarten team includes Denise Kelly, Tracey Leighton, Rene Jefford, Madison Forcione and Rachael Kelley.
