The Rho-Lambda chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) presents the first Oswego Community Cares Day, a community centric event being held at The American Foundry from 4-6 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 13.
The event aims to showcase the best of both the SUNY Oswego and city of Oswego communities. Proceeds of the event will benefit St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. The mission of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. Consistent with the vision of founder Danny Thomas, no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family's ability to pay.
Oswego Community Cares Day serves to not only raise funds and awareness for the wonderful organization whose mission is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment, but to also provide a family-friendly afternoon of fun and entertainment.
"Along a fabulous chicken BBQ dinner being served, attendees will also get to enjoy performances from local entertainers," said a spokesperson for the event.
Dozens of prizes will be up for grabs at the raffle, including gift certificates from local establishments. Highlight prizes also included memorabilia posters from New York football teams as well as autographed CD's from popular artists such as Macklemore, Florida Georgia Line and more.
Admission tickets are $15 and also include three raffle tickets; additional tickets can be purchased at the event.
