This week we it’s all about locally grown foods and I figured what better to showcase than our local strawberries!
I have to say, strawberries are probably one of my favorite fruits aside from blueberries and over the last year, I have made a handful of strawberries recipes made with juicy, local grown strawberries around the corner from my house.
Not only are strawberries in season here but I also happen to live right around the corner from one of the best and sweetest strawberries fields/stands in the area.
This past week, Ferlito’s Berry Patch announced that their strawberries were ripe and ready, officially opening up their stand for business. If you live locally then you know just how delicious and sweet Ferlito’s strawberries are, really nothing compares.
Unfortunately time hasn’t allowed me to stop by their stand just yet BUT I did have some of their incredible strawberries stored in the freezer – which obviously called for a celebratory smoothie!
Since I’ve already made a Strawberry Shortcake Smoothie before, I had to get a little creative so I came up with a Strawberry Cheesecake Smoothie.
This smoothie is deliciously dairy free and the perfect way to refuel after a hot summertime run!
