At a recent Fulton Noon Rotary meeting, the club presented several scholarships to Fulton high school students.
The club’s first scholarship was awarded in 1997 and the club has awarded over $60,000 in scholarships since.
Major donors over the years have included the family of Sandy and Sylvia Squires, the Ken Patrick family and the General Dr. Ravindra and Dr. Manjula Shah family. New this year is donor Brookfield Renewable US.
This year’s recipients include Alejandro Rodriguez, Lauren Bradshaw, Emma Perkins, Lilianna Thompson, Alissa Murdoch, Audrey White and J. Mitchell Shurtsleff.
Tania Samson, President of the club, commented: “By recognizing and celebrating student achievements, Rotary clubs play a vital role in fostering learning and encouraging students to strive for excellence.“
Fulton Noon Rotary meets at 12:00 noon on the first three Thursdays of the month at the Tavern on the Lock in Fulton.
