Fulton Public Library Hosts Free Senior Planet Lectures on Online Safety and Scam Prevention

This August, Fulton Public Library invites the community to attend two free educational lectures designed to help older adults navigate the digital world safely and confidently.

Presented in partnership with Senior Planet from AARP, these expert-led sessions will cover essential topics like online safety, scam awareness, and fraud prevention.

Lecture 1: Understanding Fraud & Scams
Tuesday, August 12th at 12:00 PM
Learn how to recognize the most common scams targeting individuals today, including those involving emails, text messages, and even artificial intelligence. Attendees will receive practical tips for avoiding scams and helpful resources to stay informed about new threats.

Lecture 2: Protecting Your Personal Information Online
Tuesday, August 19th at 12:00 PM
This session focuses on safe browsing habits and the do’s and don’ts of sharing personal information online. Participants will leave with a better understanding of how to safeguard their data in today’s digital landscape.

Both lectures will take place in the Community Room at Fulton Public Library, located at 160 South 1st Street, Fulton, NY 13069. No registration is required.
