Born in Neenah, Wisconsin, he was the son of the late Mark and Florence (Spellman) Potter. He worked for the Local #73 Pipefitters before moving to Colorado where he retired from Rocky Flats. He worked part-time at Lowes.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret (Stewart) Potter; three sons, Charles (Lisa) Potter and Mark (Patricia) Potter, both of Oswego; Stewart (Janice) Potter of Colorado; six grandchildren, Brian (Christine) Potter, Kyle (Audrey) Potter, Alan Potter, Shay Fluetsch, Kami Fluetsch and Jack Detmer.
He was predeceased by his daughter Katie Detmer (Nov. 10, 2015) and three brothers, Tom, Bob and Mike Potter.
There are no calling hours.
A Funeral Mass for George and his daughter Katie will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, December 5th at St. Mary’s Church. Burial will be held in Oswego Town Rural Cemetery.
