George J. Millen Sr., 83, a resident of New Haven, passed away November 2, 2014, at his home surrounded by his wife and loving family.
Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Frederick Richard and Nellie (Alchin) Millen. George worked for 35 years as a Machinist for Carrier Corp. George was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, jet skiing, water skiing, and snowmobiling and working on his backhoe. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving is his wife of 63 years, Janice Millen; one son, Girard R. (Debbie) Millen of Central Square; daughter-in-law Sheila Millen; four grandchildren, Amy (Chris) Sutter, George Millen III, Jennifer (John) Wilber, and Ashley (Josh) Bush; three great grandchildren, Nathaniel, Gaven, and Alaina Sutter.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his son, George J. Millen Jr. and by his daughter, Lori A. Windey.
Calling hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Thursday, November 6th, at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany Street, Oswego.
