Write a commentGeorge P. “Pete” Southgate, 61, of Oswego passed away Sunday evening at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Oswego and was the son of the late James and Ruth Bartholomew Southgate.
Mr. Southgate was the husband of Cynthia Goppert Southgate.
He was the Head of Security at Brennan’s Beach Resort. He had been employed as a forklift operator at several local factories. He had also been part owner of S & S Bait, Tackle and Lodging.
In addition to his wife Cynthia, he is survived by one daughter Jessica Southgate of Oswego, one son George P. Southgate Jr. of Oswego one stepson James DeSantis of Florida, one brother Timothy Southgate of Lacona, four sisters, Louise Gilbert of Scriba, Judy Mulcahey of Oswego, Margaret Morehouse of Moravia, Ruth Knight of Hannibal, five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, James Southgate, and sister, Karen Southgate.
There are no calling hours or services at this time. A Celebration of Life is being planned for the Spring.
Arrangements are by the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
