Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late William and Dorothy (Knosp) Slight and was a graduate of the Oswego High School.
He was employed with Charney's in Syracuse for many years.
George was an avid NY Yankees fan and enjoyed watching NASCAR and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are two daughters, Heather (Scott) Hibbert of Oswego, Melissa Slight of Oswego, a son, Jason (Kelly) Slight of Oswego and four grandchildren, Alison, Aaron,Ethan and Lindi,
He was predeceased by his wife, Linda Slight in 2001.
Friends may call at the Dowdle Funeral Home on Friday from 9:30- 11:00.
Burial will be in St.Peter's Cemetery.
