Glenn S. Topley, 65, a resident of Elm Street in Oswego, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.

He was the husband of the late Sharon (Phillips) Topley, who died in 2014.

Glen was born in Amsterdam, NY, the son of the late John and Margaret (Heinold) Topley.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a manager for Auxiliary Services at SUNY-Oswego.

Glenn was very dedicated to the cause of preventing and curing Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) and to helping support those who are afflicted with the disease. He was a member of Gaga’s Gladiators, named in honor of his wife Sharon, which has raised money for research, and helped to support those with ALS.

He was very devoted to Blues music.

He is survived by a brother, David Topley of Oswego; a sister, Susan (James Leccese) Topley of Wakefield, Massachusetts; many nieces and nephews including Scott Topley, Patrick Topley, Kyle Topley, Hunter Topley, Taylor Vignari, and John Phillips; and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Judi Phillips of Oswego.

He was predeceased by a niece, Lauren Topley Raymond.

Calling hours will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 Wednesday, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 East Second Street in Oswego.
