Write a commentGrace Mae Truell, 101, passed away Saturday, February 7, 2026 in Oswego.
Grace was born in the town of Volney, the daughter of the late Willliam and Hazel (Otterson), Nelson. She grew up in the Seneca Hill area.
She had lived in Auburn, NY for 10 years, where she was the manager of Hunter’s Diner, before returning to the Oswego area.
She was the wife of the late Richard Truell, who died in 1990.
Grace is survived by her son, Philip Truell of Washington State; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by a son, Richard Truell.
Services will be private. There are no calling hours. Burial will be in the State of Washington.
Grace was always willing to help those experiencing food insecurity. Contributions in her memory can be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church, 45 East Utica Street, Oswego, NY 13126; or to Human Concerns, Inc., 75 East Second Street, Oswego, NY 13126.
