Hazel Lucille Flack, 94, of Sterling, died October 9, 2016 at St. Luke Health Services.
Born in Oswego, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Hazel (Matthews) Cole.
Lucille was Secretary for the Sterling Historical Society for over 30 years. She was the founding member and Secretary for Poor Folks Snowmobile Club and the Trail Boss for the Doolittle Camping Club.
She was an avid Gardner, loved to travel, enjoyed gambling and taking care of her family and friends.
Surviving are a son, Robert (Virginia) Flack of Sterling; a daughter, Kathryn (Late Paul) Somers of Scriba; five grandchildren, Robert (Jill) Flack, Ronald Flack, Scott Somers, Shelley (Wally) Love, Stacey (Dave) Sgarlata; seven great-grandchildren, Jon, Tim and Paul Love, Austin Somers, Alex, Tyler and Janelle Flack; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick “Miley” Flack and siblings Fred Cole, Ed Cole and Mary Irwin.
Calling hours will be held 4-7 p.m. Thursday, with a service to follow, at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.
Private burial will be held at the convenience to the family in Springbrook Cemetery.
