A new group offering support for those who are experiencing grief due to the loss of someone close has begun meeting the fourth Tuesday of every month at St. Luke Health Services in Oswego. The next meeting takes place on Tuesday, December 26, beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Facilitated by HOPE for Bereaved, the Support Group offers understanding, listeners, support, friendship, suggestions for coping and hope. Hope for those whose parent; sibling, relative or friend has died. The organization was founded on the understanding that sharing the journey from grief to hope with others who are going through or have experienced the same suffering is essential to the healing process.

Donna Lupien leads the Support Group. Anyone interested in attending is welcome no reservations are required.

Founded in 1978, HOPE for Bereaved is an independent nonprofit community organization. Our purpose is to offer support, understanding, coping strategies, friendship and hope to the bereaved, as well as education, consultation and resources for their families, friends, employers, school/daycare staff, co-workers and invested professionals. The help given by HOPE can add greatly to the physical and mental well-being of the bereaved and therefore to their place of employment and to the community. On the web at www.hopeforbereaved.com
