Local favorites and husband and wife, Nelson and Sherri Metz bring their passion for theatre and each other into every project they tackle! Long-time members of the Oswego Players, they have worked on countless productions with Producer Tammy Wilkinson in a variety of capacities. As directors or actors, this dynamic couple has spent countless hours with Tammy on the Francis Marion Brown stage.

"Tammy Wilkinson is the absolute best producer of live theater entertainment in my experience. Her energy, enthusiasm, creativity and passion are a genuine inspiration to everyone she touches. We are honored and thrilled to be invited to participate in this exciting new theater experience. This community has been crying out for this kind of fun night out for everyone for a long, long time. Now it's a living breathing reality thanks to the passion and imagination of this amazing lady!" said Nelson.

"I love working with Tammy. She's always two steps ahead and anticipates your every need. You want it...she'll get it. You need it done...she'll get it done. I'm so excited to be a part of her company and I am certain Theatre Du Jour will be a huge success!" added Sherri.

Having the opportunity to read Murder at Cafe Noir by David Landau sealed the deal for Metz & Metz as the show offered a delicious combination of acting, improv and even a little singing and soft shoe! The opportunity to bring his love for Bogart to the stage thrilled Nelson, and Sherri was curious to see how this interactive, touring dinner theatre concept worked as she plans to direct for TDJ in the fall.

"What better way to check it all out than to dive into a show myself, so I decided to audition. Nelson has been a fan of Humphrey Bogart and film noir, all his life. It was a perfect opportunity for us both to explore and experience something new" said Sherri.

The pair most recently starred in the Oswego Players production of The Lion in Winter as King Henry II and Queen Eleanor. Two of their favorite roles ever: "that show was a real blast for us both!" according to Nelson.

IMG 1226"I love the character of Eleanor and the combination of high drama and dry wit in this play was so invigorating. We didn't want it to end." said Sherri.

Nelson has directed numerous shows including Lost in Yonkers, The Director and Don't Dress for Dinner. His motto is "Love the process, live the performance". Sherri had spent 10 years doing musicals with the Red Creek Community Players and had been with the Oswego Players for 24 years.

"I have recently taken a bigger interest in the director's chair and look forward to the opportunity to direct for Theatre Du Jour" said Sherri.

In addition to live theater Nelson enjoys his work as a Youth Employment Specialist with The Oswego County Workforce New York office. He is also active in the community as an officer with our local Elks Lodge #271. Sherri spends her time off stage as Branch Assistant at the Oswego Heritage Federal Credit Union and at the First United Methodist church of Oswego as Choir Director/organist.
