He was a self-employed painter.
Surviving is his father, James Runnels Sr.; his children, Serina Runnels, Jessica Runnels-Czuprynski, Erica Runnels-Sardino, Venessa Runnels, Tracey Masters, Samantha Storsberg and Austin Douglas; one brother, Johnny Runnels; and many grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held from 1-3 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 W. Albany St., Oswego.
