Obituaries

     James H. Woods, 83, a resident of Oswego passed away on June 25 at his home.

     Born in Oswego, he was a son of the late Henry and Ann (Miller) Woods and was a graduate of the Minetto Union School. He was employed with Nestle's for ten years and later retired from Alcan after nearly twenty years of service. Mr. Woods was a veteran of the United States Army. James was a member of the American Legion #911 in Cato.He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting but most of all, he enjoyed a good barbecue with his family.

     Surviving are his wife of 52 years, the former Jeannette St.Onge, two daughters, Jacquelyn (Phillip) Irland of Oswego, Janet (Phillip) Kelly of Minetto,a son James H. (Lisa) Woods Jr. of Tennessee, two sisters, Catherine Chillson of Hannibal, Jane Sharkey of Oswego, two brothers, Harold Woods of Oswego, Donald Woods of Martville, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

     Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

     There are no calling hours.

     In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in James's name to a charity of choice.
