James M. Thompson, 70, a resident of Oswego Town, passed away January 13, 2024, at his home.
Jim was born in Oswego, the son of the late C. Paul and Clara (Scott) Thompson. He was a life resident of the area.
For 45 years, he worked as a union carpenter, working at several nuclear plants, as well as many other projects. He retired as a member of Carpenters Local #277.
He loved the outdoors and excelled at working on home projects. He also enjoyed spending time at his camp at Moon Beach.
Jim loved hockey, and was an enthusiastic fan of the New York Rangers.
He is survived by two sons, Travis (Sara) Thompson, and Jarin (Rebecca) Thompson, both of Oswego; a daughter, Courtney Thompson of Oswego; three sisters, Dawn Thompson of Oswego, Joyce Fitzgerald of North Carolina, and Patricia (Larry) Keiper of Alabama; a brother, Gary (Carol) Thompson of Oswego; eight grandchildren, Connor, Cayden, Jaydin, Cole, Celia, Tiannah, Carmella, and Giannah; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a brother, Paul Thompson, and a sister, Donna Babcock.
Calling hours will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 Friday, January 19, 2024, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 East Second Street in Oswego.
