Once again the Oswego jayvee girls' basketball team took control and was never challenged enroute to its ninth win in 10 games.
The Lady Bucs gained a 42-24 victory over Auburn.
Coach Jessica Burridge said, "They came out strong in the first quarter going on a 12-1 scoring streak. Claire Richardson had three steals during this time which made it hard for Auburn to set up their offense. Both teams went into the half with a score of 24-10."
Auburn made a run in the second half cutting Oswego's lead to only nine.
Oswego put the pressure back on the Maroons and the game was over. Oswego ended up winning 42-24.
Leading scorers for the Bucs' were Claire Richardson with 12, Olivia Dowdle with nine, and Brianna Stenz with seven. Maddy Rahn had an impressive seven rebounds and Kelly Skinner had five. The Bucs' were able to have 10 players healthy enough to play last night.
"It is nice to have everyone back and we will now be able to take our practice up to another level," Coach Burridge said. "We only have one more player to get healthy, Michele Lavery and then we will be all back. Michele has been out for the whole season with a hip injury but is always at every practice cheering on her teammates and is always helping the team out in any way she can."
