Oswego Speedway’s first national broadcast of the 2016 season will take place on Thursday, June 16 at 4 p.m. & 7 p.m. ET with the airing of the prestigious 75-lap Novelis Supermodified Jim Shampine Memorial on Suzuki presents SPEED SPORT on MAVTV.

Originally taped on Saturday, May 28, the Shampine Memorial will feature the best in Supermodified racing on the fast 5/8 mile ‘Steel Palace’ oval brought to you by veteran motorsports broadcasters Ralph Sheheen and Derek Pernesiglio, as well as former Supermodified driver Dan Kapuscinski on pit lane.

New this season will be a much faster turnaround of the tape delayed broadcasts as longtime SPEED SPORT producer Andy Parsons looks to edit the show in a two week window.

“Having been involved in several tape delayed broadcasts in my days with the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series, I can say that post producing these shows in this type of window is no easy task,” said Oswego Speedway PR Director, Dan Kapuscinski.  “With that said, we are ecstatic to see that the whole crew from SPEED SPORT and Thomas Video Productions has jumped in with both feet to get these shows turned around and on the air in a quick fashion.  It only helps to make the broadcasts even more exciting and relevant in relation to our weekly efforts at the Speedway.  It is shaping up to be another great season at Oswego with this continued partnership with SPEED SPORT and MAVTV.”

Top Supermodified pilots Otto Sitterly, Michael Barnes, Tim Devendorf, Brandon Bellinger, Dave Gruel, Michael Muldoon, Dave Danzer and more will all be featured in the 60-minute broadcast, which will serve as the first of seven Speedway broadcasts to air on Suzuki presents SPEED SPORT on MAVTV this season.

The ISMA Supermodified Jack Murphy Memorial, also taped on May 28, will air on Thursday, June 23 at 4 p.m. & 7 p.m. ET.

Broadcast coverage will continue with the 30th annual $10,000-to-win Mr. Novelis Supermodified to be run on July 23, before returning for Budweiser International Classic Weekend.

Classic Weekend will be covered top to bottom by SPEED SPORT with coverage of the Bud Light ISMA Super Nationals on Saturday, September 3, while the Budweiser International Classic 200 and Bud Light SBS Classic will each be covered on Sunday, September 4.

The Speedway’s final event of the season will be the return of the Race of Champions Asphalt Modified 250 on Saturday, September 17, announced earlier this month by SPEED SPORT and RoC officials.

SPEED SPORT, a multimedia motorsports news organization with roots dating to 1934, was built on short-track racing. The feature-based SPEED SPORT Magazine is delivered monthly while breaking news is available as soon as it happens at www.SPEEDSPORT.com, which is also where fans can register for the free “Daily presented by General Tire” that rounds up all of the major stories from the previous 24 hours.

Suzuki presents SPEED SPORT on MAVTV is entering its third season, with 30 one-hour shows scheduled to broadcast at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. every Thursday.

Kids 16 and under will again be admitted free at all Oswego Speedway events in 2016 with the exception of Budweiser International Classic Weekend and Race of Champions Weekend. For more information on Oswego
