Born in Oswego, Johanna was the daughter of the late John and Mary (McCarthy) Smegelsky.
Johanna was a graduate of Oswego High School. She worked as an office manager for Dr. Tesoriero for many years. She enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles. Johanna loved sitting in the sun and enjoyed spending time with her two dogs, Bella and Gus.
Johanna is survived by her wife Colleen Dewine and son Nick Smegelsky both of Oswego. Also, surviving are her brothers Jack (Wendy) Smegelsky and Joe (Annette) Smegelsky of Oswego, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Johanna was preceded in death by her sister Sue Tweedie.
Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, October 17, 2022, from 3-6 pm at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany Street. A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 18th at 10 am at Christ the Good Shepherd and burial will take place in St. Peter Cemetery. Arrangements are under the caring guidance of Nelson Funeral Home.
