John A. Spano, 90, of Oswego, died December 7, 2016, at St. Luke’s Health Services.
Born in Oswego he was the son of the late Angelo and Anna (Marturano) Spano.
Mr. Spano co-owned Spano Gardens with his late brother Angelo F. Spano and also owned and operated Spano Apartments.
He enjoyed being with his family and shared his generosity with many people he met within the community
Mr. Spano is survived by her daughter Linda (Gary) Baker of Oswego, a son John (Susan Randall) Spano Jr. of Atlanta, GA., seven grandchildren John Spano II, Shannon (Stephen) Gray, Jennifer (Michael) Reinhardt, Kari Spano, Sarah Spano, Nicholas Spano, and Ryan (Denyelle) Baker, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife Shirley M. Spano and a brother Angelo F. Spano.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. on Monday at St. Joseph’s Church. Entombment will follow at the family’s private Mausoleum, St. Peter’s Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held 1-4p.m. Sunday at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St., Oswego.
