Born in Granby, NY, he was the son of the late John and Vita Torrese.
He worked in the produce business all of his life and his boys followed in his footsteps.
His loved car racing and most recently enjoyed his personal seat at Oswego Speedway.
Surviving are three sons, John C. Torrese; Mark Torrese; and Eric Torrese; a daughter, Cindy (Richard) Benn; nine grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; many friends and extended family. He also has 3 great grandchildren and cousins Rosario (Zottie) Torrisi and Patricia Torrisi of New York.
He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Arlene; sisters, Val Pisapia (Louis); Mary Scalia (Gasper); Rose Mancuso (Sal); Sally Cavuto (Carmen); and a brother Jerry Torrese.
Calling hours will be held Saturday, April 22nd from 9 a.m. to noon. at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego. Followed by graveside services at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fulton.
Donations can be made to St Jude’s in lieu of flowers.
