John “Jack” Fatiga, 75, of Oswego, died March 27, 2018 in South Carolina.

Born in Oswego, NY, he was the son of the late Donald and Mary (Tuso) Fatiga.

He worked as a papermaker for Hammermill Paper Company for 37 years and retired from SUNY Oswego after 10 years.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 268.

Jack was an avid Giants, Yankees, and SU fan. He enjoyed pro wrestling, was an avid bowler, and played football for Oswego High School. He coached numerous flag football teams and also coached and played basketball and softball.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Hanley-Fatiga; his son, Robert (Gina) Fatiga, his daughter, Lynn Fatiga; his step-children, Gina Neild, Michael and Thomas Hanley; his brother, William (Cynthia) Fatiga; his two granddaughters, Ashley and Melinda Fatiga; four step-grandchildren, Elizabeth (Ron) Chrestler, Melissa (Dan) Tighe, Joseph Hanley, and Emily Hanley; two great-grandchildren, Declan and Lucy; and two step-great-grandchildren, Addison Tighe and Camerson Chrestler.

He is predeceased by his first wife, Nancy L. Fatiga.

Calling hours will be held Tuesday 3-7, at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego, NY.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 am at St. Stephen’s Church.

Burial will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
