John L. Richards, 62, a resident of East Second Street in Oswego, passed away Sunday, at his home.
John was born in Fulton, and was a life resident of the Oswego County area. He was the son of Helen (Jodway) Richards, and the late John Richards.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed with the Paperworks Corp. in Baldwinsville, NY. He had previously worked for the Hammermill Corp. in Oswego.
John was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed spending time at camp with his many friends. He was an enthusiastic sports fan who enjoyed NASCAR, and rooted for Syracuse University sports teams, and the Denver Broncos.
Most importantly, John was a dedicated family man, with a deep love for his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Laura (Sonny) Richards-Chausse of Oswego; his son, John (Sarah Fuller) Richards of Watertown; his mother, Helen Richards of Fulton; three sisters, Diane (Robert) Hopkins of Florida, Cindy (Jeff) Germain of Dubai, and Jean (Dean) Ganskop of Williamson; a brother, Fred (Heather) Richards of Oswego; nine grandchildren, Hannah, Desa, Desiree, John, Jordis, Abigail, Jay, Robert, and Jackson; his former wife, Diane Richards-Zeller of Oswego; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, May 29th, at the Church of the Good Shepherd at St. Paul’s, 50 East Mohawk Street in Oswego.
Calling hours will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 Tuesday, May 28th, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home, 112 East Second Street in Oswego.
