Born in Oswego, NY; he was the son of the late John and Della (Plata) Cavellier.
He worked as a carpenter at Mill Wright.
John loved playing golf, baseball, and going fishing.
Surviving are his wife, Shirley (Crymer); his four sons, John Cavellier Jr., Stanley Cavellier, John Cavellier and James Cavellier; two daughters, Sharon Cavellier Kimball and Debbie Cavellier; step-daughters, Lorena Malone, Darnece Tetrev, Melinda Davis; step-sons, Trent Drake and Dick Drake; his brother, James (Ann) Cavellier, and their children, James Jr., Mark, Scott, Lonnie, and Jodi; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held, 3-5 pm, Wednesday with a service to follow at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St., Oswego.
