Write a commentJohn M. Fay Jr., 27, of Oswego passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 16th, 2019.
Born in Syracuse, he was the son of John M. and Jacquelyn M. (Baldwin) Fay of Oswego Town.
He graduated from Oswego High School and attended Cayuga Community College.
John was an accomplished guitar player, he enjoyed writing and playing music, and he played in bands with his brother Matt. He was a huge Phish fan. John especially enjoyed his time with his family and was “Mr. Mom” to his three children. He also enjoyed playing backgammon with his father and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children, Christopher, Stephen, and Maya Fay; the mother of his children, Christy Johnson and her daughter, Abigail Johnson; his sister, Jaimie Fay and nephew, Nicholas Schell; his brother, Matthew (Samantha Capitulik) Fay and her son Oliver; Maternal grandparents Lewis and Colleen Baldwin, of Granby and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
John was predeceased be his grandparents Julius and Patricia Fay and Ida Mae Southworth.
Calling hours will be from 11-12:45 pm Wednesday, August 21st at Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany Street.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will follow at St. Joseph’s Church at 1pm and burial will take place in St. Peter’s Cemetery.
