Write a commentJohn R. Balcom, 82, a resident of County Route 7 in the town of Oswego, passed away Saturday, at the Oswego Hospital.
John was the son of the late Vann and Ella (King) Balcom. He lived in Pulaski and Fulton before moving to Oswego in 1973. Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a printing department supervisor with the Container Corporation of America in Fulton. John will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Evelyn (Beckwith) Balcom of Oswego; a daughter, Kim (Byron) Sizemore of Minetto; two sons, Craig (Julie) Balcom of Red Creek, and Larry (JoAnn) Balcom of Westchester, Pennsylvania; a brother, Earl (Bertha) Balcom of Mason, Ohio; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sons. Paul Perry, who died in 2000, and Peter Perry, who died in 2011.
Memorial services will be held at 7:00 Friday, at the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home.
Spring burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
A calling hour will be held from 6:00 to 7:00 Friday, prior to the service, at the funeral home, 112 East Second Street in Oswego.
