John Richard "Dick" Workman, 93, a resident of Oswego, passed away April 9, 2015.

Born in Oswego, he was the son of the late Walter and Vina (Muskell) Workman. He was an Army Veteran serving in WWII in the South Pacific. Dick worked for WSYR from 1940-1955 as a Vocalist with Jim DeLine. He also worked on the radio station WFBL and was a contestant on the Godfrey Show. He owned and operated Workman's Floral Shop for many years on West Bridge Street.

Surviving are his wife, Rachel (Turkington) Workman; a son Daniel Workman of Brockport, NY; three grandchildren, Danielle Workman, William Workman, Andrew Workman; six great-grandchildren, Timothy Moon, James Workman, Rachel Engman, Max Workman, Isabelle Workman and Harrison Workman; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, William "Bill" John Workman and two brothers, Walter "Bob" Workman and Rev. George Arthur Workman and a grandson Daniel Moon

Calling hours will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, with a service to follow, at the Nelson Funeral Home, 11 West Albany St. Oswego.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
