Judith L. Samuels Cole, 68, passed away on November 29, 2014 at her home in The Villages, Florida.

Judy was born, and lived most of her life, in Oswego, New York before following her dream to retire in Florida. She graduated from Oswego High School and went on to take classes at SUNY Oswego. Judy spent many years as a hairdresser, and eventually went to work for the Oswego City School District at both the high school, and the district office.

She is survived by her mother Nancy (Familo) Samuels of Oswego; her sons, Scott (Fong) Cole of Taiwan, and Brian (Kelly) Cole of Wolcott; her sister Jeanne (Thomas) Kurilovitch of Oswego; her brother William (Linda) Samuels of Oswego; her grandson Matthew; three nephews; two nieces; and several great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Harvey Samuels, who died in 2004.

Florida sunshine and Disney magic held a special place in Judy's heart, as it was a frequent vacation choice for her and her entire family. Judy made many trips to St. Augustine and Orlando with her parents; her sister Jeanne's family; her own children, Scott and Brian; and eventually her daughter-in-law Kelly and grandson Matthew. Judy knew better than anyone that "A dream is a wish your heart makes," and her heart wanted to live in Florida. A few years after she retired, she found exactly what she was looking for at The Villages. She quickly made wonderful friends with whom she enjoyed going to trivia nights, as well as polo matches, listening to music in the square, going out to dinner, or just having coffee. Judy even found more people there who shared her love of Disney, and they took many trips together.

Judy was always up for adventure and traveled as far away as Taiwan to visit Scott. Many Saturday nights were spent working at the Oswego Speedway or cheering on Bill and Linda's race cars. Watching Matthew compete in swim meets was another one of Judy's favorite things to do. Judy enjoyed going camping and sight-seeing and was truly never afraid to try something new! Her many life-long friends and family were always part of those adventures, which have left lasting memories for those who knew her best.

Judy will be remembered best for her smile and zest for life. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. In the words of A.A. Milne, "If ever there comes a day when we can't be together, keep me in your heart, I'll stay there forever."
