The Oswego County Legislature proclaimed July 26 as Americans with Disabilities Awareness Day to promote education about advocacy, resources and services available to county residents.
The certificate was presented to members of Oswego ARISE. The group works with residents and communities to protect the promise of the 1990 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), which ensures that people of all levels of ability have access to services and employment, accommodations and transportation, and telecommunications.
